Alpabzug is the descending of the cows 

from the alps into the valleys at the end of summer.

It was like a parade of cows with their traditional swiss cow bell.The poeple there are dressed up walking their cows down to the village.

They have live band,poeple yodelling (that reminds me of Heidi cartoon series when i was a kid),farm markets where you can try their popular Appenzell cheese,pig race and some fun activities for kids.

it's getting more and more popular touristic place that the village guide had to give instructions in german and english.The place is really wonderful far from the busy bahnhofstrasse in zurich.

It's a perfect short day trip for the whole family to get to know more about the swiss culture.

The Picture above is inside the Dino-attack attraction,you'll be seated with a laser-gun with you going to a pre-historic journey  hunting the dinosaurs,it was somehow terrifying for the small ones coz they will appear at the place that you won't expect them to be  and all of a sudden they will move towards you lol and at the end they took a snapshot of our funny scared face which is a nice souvenire.

I always want to have a traditional pumpkin carving activity before halloween with my son and at the same time to have fun in the nature.

My husband told me about this farm that they used to do their company team building event few years ago,so he suggested me to go there and check the place.

We took the train from Zürich HB to Aathal station and from there a shuttle bus going to Jucker farm or few minutes walk through the forest.

The place is really amazing with all the pumpkin display.We bought our pumpkin in their shop and visitors are allowed to use their carving materials for free.

Aside from selling pumpkins they also have some bio/organic products like vegatables,fruits,jams,eggs and a lot more!...Oh their fresh pressed apple juice is the best-seller drink inside the farm,it tastes really good and very refreshing.

They also have a playground made of straw for kids and restaurants whenever you get hungry,i would recommend their homemade pies,really delicious!

We always go there every year and i guess now it's our tradition every fall.

Aside from the farm you can also enjoy the nice view over the lake,really relaxing,just simply sit on the grass and enjoy the place.

Every december they have Christmas market ,also they offer sunday brunch and company events.

My son loves everything about dinosaurs and his mom (me) as a big fan of "the land before time" movie,i'm always fascinated about dinosaurs.I remember watching little foot during my primary school years in my grandparents house (at that time it was just betamax available).

This place is perfect for kids or even adults who are interested and crazy about dinos.

They have dinosaur skeletons and fossils with all the trivia that you need to know,very interesting and informative.

They have a small playground at the back of the museum and a big moving dino which is a good entertainment for small kids like my daughter on the picture above.

During summer you can make barbecue bratwurst and picnic on their playground.

Basler Kinderfasnacht 2014 / Basel kids carnival

Basel Fasnacht is the most popular carnival celebration in switzerland every march.

It's a 3-day non-stop party in the whole city and every tuesday afternoon on the second day of fasnacht week is the one for kids.(Kinderfasnacht)

Everyone are dress up with different kinds of costumes but the popular one is "Waggis Larve" a traditional basel mask ,It's somehow scary like the one on the picture below but that's one of the reason why Basel Carnival is so popular.

At first i wanted to bring my kids on the first day but my husband said it's better on the second day since it's for kids so no wild teenagers around and drunk adults lol

There are floats going around the city and giving small treats for all like sweets,small toys,stuffed toy etc.

My kids got 2kg. of candies and some other stuff.

I thought my Kids will get bored easily but no they had sooo much fun getting the candies eventhough we have a lot of sweets at home,i let them experience the joy of collecting candies from the Waggis and at the end they're so proud of what they got.
